Hula is an expressive dance by Hawaiians or Hawaiians-at-heart whereby one interprets the words of a song or chant through the art of movement, smooth bodily gestures and vocals.  These movements actually tell a story or represents movements of nature, such as trees swaying in the breeze or fish swimming smoothly in the ocean.  Both men and women perform the hula for entertainment, exercise, at family gatherings, etc.

WAIOLA HULA HALAU kumu (instructor) Napuamekealohaokawahineu'i came from five generations of haumanas (students) and kumus (teachers).  Come join us as we learn to sway and move to the beautiful Hawaiian music of the Islands, besides learning the Hawaiian words for each movement.  The halau (studio/group) is operated as an Ohana (family) where everyone becomes as one, whether dancing, making costumes, sharing food, observing competitions, etc.
